I am a Mental Health Therapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Although my training has been in CBT, I am also skilled in Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interview (MI) approaches. My approach is integrative, strength-focused, and evidenced-based. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all therapeutic approach. Rather, I believe it is possible for anyone to achieve their goals if the right blend of techniques and support are used. I believe that working with people's strengths helps them build flexibility and resilience. Sometimes we go through challenges in life, but when we begin to explore our strengths we can use those challenges to help discover the reasons for underlying issues standing between ourselves and our goals.
In addition to working in private practice, I am an MST-FIT Therapist in New York City. MST is an intensive family and community-based treatment program that focuses on addressing all environmental systems impacting youth involved in the juvenile justice system (e.g., homes, families, schools, teachers, neighborhoods, and friends.) I urge my clients to use mindfulness and alternative coping mechanisms to assimilate back into their community.
